The E&B Company eCopilot leather side pouch for the iPhone, [$29.95 - TiPb Store link] has a sophisticated style and classic appearance. The case is made of a durable leather outer shell and has a soft cushioned interior lining. The horizontal pouch opening has a magnetic binding which makes it easy to open and close and yet is strong enough that it will not open on its own.
For more about this case and pictures, join us after the break…
The eCopilot can be used on your belt or carried in your bag or briefcase. The belt loop is reinforced and has ample room to fit over various belt widths. For those who prefer belt clips, however, that’s not an option here.
I prefer to keep my iPhone in my purse, so this pouch is well suited for my needs. The case has a streamlined finish so it does not add much bulk or weight and the leather outer layer has a attractive finish. It’s also quite strong and will protect your iPhone from most scratches, abrasions and some falls. In fact, when my child kicked my phone down the stairs — it survived (so did my child, after a lengthy time out…)
The sides have small openings and, whether or not it was the manufacturers intent, this can be used to plug in your earphones without having to take your iPhone out from the case.
There is a small groove in the front of the case which makes it easy to get to your iPhone with one hand.
This case is beautifully constructed and will take a good deal of abuse with ease. Its look is sophisticated and perfect for the professional in your life. For those of you who may want the case in another color other than pink, The E&B Company eCopilot side pouch also comes in black, brown and red and is available for $29.95 from the TiPb iPhone accessory store.
Oh, and if I get over 50 different people’s comments on this post, Rene has generously offered (will be forced) to carry around my next case for a day (it’s also pink!). Follow me on twitter @GeorgiaTiPb and I will keep you posted on the progress.

Despite the widespread disdain for Adobe Flash, it remains a ubiquitous platform delivering streaming media to millions of browser windows -- except for mobile Safari. Adobe claims that its site received more than 7 million download requests for Flash in the month of December, originating from iPhone and iPod touch users, which the company is using as evidence that users of those products want Flash on their devices. A shocking figure, if true. And if traffic from these devices is so high now, demand will only be exacerbated by the arrival of the iPad, once thousands of angry users discover they can't watch funny cat videos anywhere but YouTube.
It's important to note, however, this traffic is originating from Adobe's Flash download page, where visitors are likely arriving after having clicked on a link which told them that their browser did not have Flash installed and where to download the plugin. So the question remains as to whether demand lured them to the page, or a simple call-to-action link. You decide.
I'm impressed that Adobe went to the effort of logging download requests, given their supposed "laziness."

Google revealed its new social communications feature Buzz yesterday while we were all traveling to Macworld, and the new service is now up and running in the Mobile Safari web app, as well as in your Gmail account everywhere else. The mobile app has all the features of the main service (it's kind of like a mix between Twitter and Google Wave, where you can post status updates and media in an ongoing conversation) with some interesting mobile features, including the option to see "buzz" nearby while out and about, as well as comment on or 'like' other people's "buzz."Google Buzz now available on iPhone web app originally appeared on The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) on Wed, 10 Feb 2010 13:00:00 EST. AT&T has openly admitted that they have selected Alcatel-Lucent and Ericsson as their LTE equipment suppliers and even better is the fact they are on track for a 2011 LTE rollout. 2011 is dead on with the information we gave you almost one year ago stating that LTE would in fact be here on AT&T in 2011 with the slight chance it would be delayed until 2012.
Now don’t fret when it comes to the existing 3G network that many of you have issues with. AT&T promises to keep working to improve that for you as well. They are not abandoning you… yet.
It is important to remember that sometimes plans do change, so don’t shoot the messenger if things don’t pan out next year.

Opera, makers of mobile web browsers popular on those platforms that don’t yet have a WebKit browser (ouch, but yeah) has announced that they’re going to show off a version of their Opera Mini proxy browser at Mobile World Congress (MWC) to partners and press.
I’m not a huge fan of proxy browsers in general — where web data is rendered on Opera’s servers, compressed, and then sent down to your phone. They remind me of those old “dial-up internet accelerators” that just cached everything locally. As broadband grew, the need for them evaporated. They also break secure connections, since they’re doing the actual web calls on their server, so things like online banking become an issue for the paranoid.
Opera makes a good point, however — for people in countries where data isn’t “unlimited” but paid-per-megabyte, or for people roaming in other countries, proxy and compression can be a big money saver.
In general, while Opera has been responsible for a lot of innovation in the web space (like tabbed browsing) they haven’t succeeded on the desktop the way Firefox has. Smartphones have been a different story, however, especially on BlackBerry and Windows Phones where the built-in browsing experience has been crippled for years and Opera Mini and the full on Opera Mobile have been alternatives of choice. With IE6 Mobile and RIM’s purchase of a WebKit browser, that might be changing, and that could be why Opera is looking to link itself with the massive hype-pipe that is the iPhone.
Of course, Opera announcing a browser for the iPhone and Apple approving it for the App Store are two very different things. Currently, you can only make a custom rapper around the built-in Mobile Safari/WebKit/Nitro rendering and JavaScript engines. With browsers being one of the primary attack vectors for malware and viruses, the prohibition against code-interpreting in the iPhone SDK, and Apple’s strong desire to control and be responsible for their own core technologies, it’s quite possible Opera Mini won’t get approved. Either way, Opera is likely to get a lot of publicity out of this, which is likely the intent.
For now, our own Dieter Bohn and Phil Nickinson will be on the ground at MWC and will bring us back their impressions of Opera Mini for iPhone.
[Thanks Christian for the tip!]
