Huawei is launching the Mate 10 next month. In anticipation of its release, the company’s social media team is keen on getting the buzz going. Huawei Singapore’s Facebook page has taken a dig at the Face ID unlocking feature which was demonstrated rather poorly with the iPhone X last Tuesday. Apple has finally included supported for FLAC audio playback with the new iPhone 8 and the iPhone X, along with the Apple TV 4K. The feature will also make its way to the iPhone 7 lineup after the iOS 11 update as reflected by the product pages of these devices. The support doesn’t extend to older devices like the iPhone 6s or the iPhone SE however, which could be due to hardware limitations. Continue reading

Facebook Silently Launches Group Video Call App, Bonfire, in Denmark

Facebook’s group video chat app, Bonfire, has silently popped up on the App Store in Denmark. The app’s existence was confirmed back in July, but this is the first time it’s been spotted on the App Store. Adam Blacker from app analytics firm Apptopia mentions that the app is only available in Denmark as of now, while only 2,000 members appear to have downloaded it so far. Apple made some changes to its product lineup with the announcement of the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X yesterday. It has now been discovered that Apple is offering the Jet Black version of the iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus in a 32GB configuration. The Jet Black iPhone 7 was previously available only in 128 and 256GB variants. It is interesting to point out that Apple has discontinued the 256GB models of the iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus. A journalist in Sydney has spotted people camping outside the local Apple Store in anticipation of the iPhone X release. While lines outside Apple Stores are nothing new, the fact that the fans have started lining up two days ahead of the announcement is quite unusual. Apple usually announces the iPhone in September, puts it up on pre-order a couple of days later, and makes it available for purchase a week or two after that. This means that fans outside the Sydney Apple Store will have to wait at least 10 days before getting their hands on the iPhone X. Continue reading

Fitbit has announced a deal with Dexcom which will allow customers of the upcoming Ionic smartwatch to access their glucose level data. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the smartwatch will be able to track glucose level data in real time. Apple is expected to host the much awaited iPhone 8 launch event at the Steve Jobs Theater, just outside the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. New drone footage uploaded to YouTube by drone pilot Duncan Sinfield now gives us a very good look of the progress made with the Apple Park’s construction. The video also gives us a glimpse of the Steve Jobs Theater, which appears pretty small from the outside, but is capable of hosting 1,000 people in its underground auditorium. Continue reading
